Our First Aid at Work three day course is suitable for organisations that require a higher level of first aid provision. This includes workplaces where there is an increased risk of injury or where a more comprehensive response may be needed.
On completion, learners will be able to assess incidents, manage casualties and provide effective first aid in a range of situations. The course is delivered through a mix of practical and theoretical activities to ensure learners feel confident applying their skills.
Duration
Three days of classroom based learning, combining practical exercises with essential theory.
Entry Requirements
Due to the practical nature of the course, learners must be physically able to take part in activities such as demonstrating CPR on a manikin at floor level.

Syllabus
A wide range of subjects are covered, including:
- Responsibilities and reporting
- Assessing an incident
- Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
- Resuscitation and AED use
- Major injuries and bleeding control
- Shock and anaphylaxis
- Fractures and spinal injuries
- Head and chest injuriesBurns and scalds
- Medical conditions such as asthma, stroke and diabetes
- Seizures and other serious conditions
- Certification
Learners are assessed throughout the course through practical demonstration and questioning.
On successful completion, a Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification will be issued, valid for three years.
Qualification Validity
The qualification remains valid for three years from the date of completion. Annual refresher training is recommended to maintain confidence and skill level.
Requalification
Once the qualification expires, the learner is no longer considered competent to act as a first aider in the workplace.
To requalify, learners will need to complete the full three day course again.
Numbers
Courses can accommodate up to 12 delegates. Learners must be at least 14 years of age.
Learners under 16 can attend the course, but employers must decide if they are suitable to take on the role of a first aider in the workplace.
